Adult Choir
All parish adults are cordially invited to consider joining
our parish choir. The choir meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:00
PM for practice. The choir sings bi-monthly at the 10:00 AM
Mass in the Upper Church and for special liturgies throughout
the year. They are a wonderful group of friends with a love
of liturgical music, sharing their gifts as they praise the
Lord. No audition is required; just an ability to sing on
pitch. Male voices are particularly needed. Rehearsals begin
on Tuesday, September 2nd in the choir loft. For further

The musical tradition of the universal Catholic Church
is a treasure of inestimable value, greater than that of any
other art form. The main reason for this pre-eminence is (that)
it forms a necessary or integral part of the solemn Liturgy
and adds delight to prayer, fosters unity of minds, or confers
greater solemnity upon the sacred rites. (Sacrosanctum Concilium)
At Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, sacred music enhances
the prayer of the assembly at liturgy. Therefore, cantors,
choirs and musicians are not performers but leaders of sung
prayer who engage the faithful to lift up their hearts to
the Lord. OLGC’s sacred music includes traditional to contemporary
hymnody. OLGC music ministries strive to echo the words of
St. Ignatius of Antioch to form yourselves into a choir, so
that in perfect harmony, and taking our pitch from God, you
may sing in true unison and with one voice, as strings of
a harp, to the Father through Jesus Christ.

OLGC Adult Choir - Sings at 10:00 AM Mass on the 1st
and 3rd Sundays of the month. Rehearsals weekly
on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. These talented parishioners
provide beautiful liturgical and sacred music throughout the
year from September through Pentecost Sunday. They are a perfect
mix of men and women of all ages who not only enjoy making
beautiful music but also wonderful friendships. Why not join
them?
Junior Cantors - Sing at the 5:00 PM Vigil Mass on
the 4th week of the month, and weekly at the 10:00
AM downstairs Mass. All parish children in grades 5 - 8 are
eligible. This is a great opportunity to get your children
involved in our parish music ministry!
LaSchola - Sings the 2nd Saturday of the
month at the 5:00 PM Vigil Mass. Available to all parish young
women beginning in the 9th Grade. LaSchola's pure harmonic
sound truly enhances the liturgy with their classic as well
as contemporary hymnody. What a perfect way to stay involved
with your parish in high school, college, and beyond!
Contemporary Group - Sings at the 12:00 Noon Mass on
the 1st Sunday of the month. This vocal and instrumental
group is available to any parishioner beginning in the 9th
Grade. The upbeat, contemporary sound of this group adds youthful
energy to our parish liturgies. For information, call Shannon
